First Bitten

gidget: So, SJP is launching her clothing line, Bitten, at Steve and Barry's on June 7. There have been many critics complaining that the line is boring. Well, let's think about this shall we? SJP made the decision that she wanted all the clothes to be under $20. Unlike some celebrities and designers who design for, lets say, H& M and target, SJP wanted to keep the clothes affordable for all women in the United States. That means clothes that stay under the price of $30. And that does not often happen when there are celebrity lines released. SJP also wanted to focus on clothes that women wear everyday, and wanted the clothes to be comfortable. So, perhaps what some wannabe fashionistas are disappointed with is that it is SJP, and not Carrie Bradshaw who designed the clothing.
From what i have seen of the line, i like it. Now, people who know me know i have a crush on SJP and may think i just like it cause of SJP. No no no. Anytime someone starts attempting to show people that they can look nice without spending a ton of money i think it is wonderful. Also, SJP made her line available in a whole range of sizes (sizes 2-22). When she was on Oprah she explained:

"This was really, really critical criteria to me," she says. "It was only a natural extension that these clothes are for every woman in this country no matter where you live, what you look like, what your skin color is like, what you are, where you are in the economic strata, everything. And that it's not for us to decide what looks good on somebody else. It's for women of all sizes to determine what makes them feel good."

Sure the clothes are simple (it's still Steve and Barry's) but there are some cute pieces in the line. And if she keeps up with it, who knows what another line could bring?
pictures are of Bitten by SJP on the Oprah show.

Pumpkins are back!
gidget: the pumpkins played their first gig last night in Paris. If you go to Youtube you can find tons of clips. Some of them are not the best quality, but it is still worth viewing them. Here is a short, but great quality clip of a new song

I am liking the new stuff. The first single, Tarantula, is super great! Man, Pumpkins bring me back. You know, it took months for me to drive a car without listening to The Smashing Pumpkins 'cause my brother only listened to the pumpkins when he drove! Here is a short clip of Tonight, Tonight

kinda gives me goosebumps hearing them play it!
Now i am super excited about the new album. Man, this year is a very exciting year for music!

Like we need another reason to L-O-V-E Kylie!!!

Jem: Okay, so this news is a little bit old but it's worth mentioning. Even though Kylie is no longer dating Oliver Martinez, she is still seeing his dog, Sheba.

Kylie says that Sheba was a great comfort to her while she was going through cancer treatments.

Sheba escorted Kylie all around Paris on a recent trip.

Kylie rocks!

Gidget: Actually Jem, there is a much bigger reason to love Kylie this week. The reason she has been in South America is because she is currently working on a MUSICAL! Now that explains why she was hanging out with a film director.

Bitch stole my idea!
gidget: Bob Geldof has some thoughts one the whole 'Live Earth' concert that Al Gore is putting on this summer. Bob wants to know what the specific goal is for the shows? And why in heck did you use the name Live Earth when it sounds so much like Live 8? Huh Huh...so why did you Gore? Can't think up an original name? Hehehe...Geldof still hopes the shows are a success but raises some very good questions. Geldof is quoted as saying "I would only organize (Live Earth) if I could go on stage and announce concrete environmental measures from the American presidential candidates, Congress or major corporations," he told the newspaper. "They haven't got those guarantees, so it's just an enormous pop concert or the umpteenth time that, say, Madonna or Coldplay get up on stage." If you want to read the entire article you can go here

Dance of the Week!

gidget: courtesy of The Archies of course!

Well, there have been reports of Kylie spending time with a married Chilean Film Director. Not only is the director married, but his wife is expecting their second child soon. I knew Kylie was not a homewrecker and that she must just be friends with the man. Turns out i was right. Kylie released a statement explaining how the two are just friends.
Kylie even states "I have never been unfaithful to a partner and would find it completely immoral to be involved with a married man."
Man, i just love her!

Sexy M.Fgidget: Prince is going to be doing 21 concerts in London at various venues. He is taking a little break from his Vegas club to do the shows in London. After the marathon London series, he is going to be taking another break ( so i don't know when he will be back performing in Vegas) Why is he taking a break? to study the Bible. No i am not joking, that is what he wants to do. Good for him. The Bible is a big book!

So, Mr. Timberlake is reporting that he will be going back into the studio with Madge. Ugh. He may even sing a duet with The Queen. He claims that "he is a fan....a fan that tricked Madonna".Whatever, she just wants to work with your boyfriend Timberland and you tag along. But please, for the public sake, take a gd break. I am sick of your stupid face!

Rumours are going around that Penelope Cruz and Lenny Kravitz are hooking up. Well, they are spending a lot of time together, so that must mean they are hooking up. Man, Lenny hooks up with anything. But to be fair, so will Penelope.

(Jane Fonda don't care 'cause she is hanging with her boys Dallas Austin and Big Boi).

Fancy yourself some webber, eh?
gidget: More tori amos news. NME is reporting that Tori is working on a musical, and that she is inspired by Andrew Llyod Webber. This could either be amazing, or horrific. no middle. i guess the problem may lye in hearing other people sing songs Tori has written. And not only singers, but musical theatre singers. You know how they all have that Voice. The article is here.

Ummm.....Jem, did you secretly make this video?

gidget: you know, it's been a pretty good year for music so far. Bjork's new album is amazing. Declare Independence is the song of the summer. Then again i have always loved songs where Bjork goes a little crazy mad and yells. Still, the song is amazing and i can not get enough of it! It reminds me of Pluto a little, except Declare Indpendence is calling all of us to action. Actually, that is what i find interesting about her new album, different songs remind of different previous Bjork songs. Some critics are saying that the album is going back to Debut and Post days, but i hear some Homogenic in there as well. I feel so lucky that i have been able to see Bjork live, even more lucky that i saw her during her Vespertine tour. Hearing her perform with a full orchestra was chilling, to say the least.
Bjork performing Declare Independence at Coachella

Bjork performing Pluto at Coachella (short clip of the performance)

I have been so focused on Bjork's new album i keep overlooking the fact that Tori Amos has a new album. I use to be a HUGE tori fan. Like many a high school girls i wore out my copy of Under The Pink and Little Earthquakes. I was not interested in the last two albums she released, but i am digging the stuff i am hearing off her new album American Doll Posse. I love how Tori plays with different characters, and even physically embodies them in the album art work.
Here is a clip of Tori performing her new song
Velvet Revolution

i have never seen Tori in concert, and she is one of the artists on my to see list. i just never seem to be able to catch one of her shows. Even this tour she is in Europe when i am in North AMerica. No Doubt she will be in North America when i am in Europe. Man, the 16 year old girl inside me is a little sad over the fact that i can not seem to see Tori live.

Sunday Morning Music
gidget: a classic tune, by an amazing singer. I just love lesley gore. She is adorable in the clip of "you don't own Me". Can you believe she scored a top hit with 'It's my Party' (produced by Quincy Jones) when she was only 16? She also turned down television and movie roles and stopped touring to go to college. Smart and talented.

Prince, Elton, and Bette oh my!

gidget: i have got to get meself down to Sin City. So many amazing shows to see. Prince, and Elton, so good. ANd now, Bette Midler is going to be there.....that is just too perfect. i must give credit to my dear friend zio for showing me the true awesome power that is Bette. Now that lady can just kill a performance. She sends chills down the spine with vocal power. And for those of you who think Bette is only Wind Beneath my wings and from a distance, go rent The Rose. Plus, Wind beneath my wings is a good song, so suck it!

Finally!!!

Jem: After a year of waiting, BBC's Robin Hood is being released on DVD in Canada. I swear, if I'm to continue being married to a BBC actor, I'm going to have to invest in a region-free DVD player...it's not right that I have to wait an entire year when the entire United Kingdom has had access to my Richard.
Richard plays a baddie in this series: Guy de Gisborne. He plays Robin's competition for Maid Marion. As if someone would pick another boy over Richard...
Gidget, I should have this when you come to visit me in June...guess what we'll be doing!!?

gidget: Oh Jem, you must be going crazy with antici...........pation. That's the problem with BBC actors, we have to wait to see them. I was just thinking about how I hope Michael Fassbender is more movies a.s.a.p, cause he is too cute to not be on screen.
p.s.-The cover of Robin Hood is so wannabe LOTR!

Everybody
gidget: this is why youtube is so amazing. A VERY early performance of Madonna singing 'Everybody'. I love early Madonna! Her outfit reminds me of the outfit she wears in the Who's That Girl video. You know, the part where she is hanging out/singing to the kids. Well....she is wearing a similar hat and a pair of shorts in the video.

So, did you hear that Britney Lip synched another show last night? Man, stay home and lip synch in front of you bathroom mirror like everyone else girl. i feel sorry for anyone who paid to see a 15 mins. performance.

Wednesday, May 02, 2007

Give me a Break!
gidget: so britney performed a little set last night to prove that she is still.....i dunno how to finish that sentence. Anyway, the girl performed for 16 mins! And by perform i mean lip sync every song. At least that is what is being reported. Pictures and clips from the performance are making there way out and here is a short clip of her lip syncing Toxic (which is a kick a** song).

Like, what is the point of this! you're not singing and the dancing is lame. go home and hang with your kids.Practice dancing in your basement, and maybe take some singing lessons. Then after a couple months maybe you can try to perform on stage again. But really, you do not need to. Maybe it is time to hang up the hooker outfits and try something new.

in other news, Madonna did not actually get a new haircut. She just actually styled it. recent pics show her hair looking blonde and wavy. i am glad the colour is the same (i wasn't sure how i felt about her strawberry blonde colour), but i really like the style she had going on in the pic. I think it would have made a very nice haircut. then again, i also loved the bob wig she wore in the jump video.

Jem: Of course you're diggin' on the short hair styles lately, Gidge. You've been talking about cutting your hair short for a while so it makes sense!

Tuesday, May 01, 2007

Got a brand new haircutgidget: Madonna got a new haircut and colour. I like the cut. Very nice. Her outfit is killer as well. Very chic. I love the bag! She looks very sophisticated.I think i need to see more pictures to decide if i like the hair colour. Once again Madonna looks AMAZING!
ps-i miss you more jem!

Brush your Teeth!

gidget: This is silly, but it makes me laugh.

Jem: Hee hee! This is pretty silly, Gidge. But I still wouldn't mind dining in heck with Gerard.
Miss you already!!!

Shake Your Groove Thing, Shake your Groove Thing

gidget: Kylie is working on a new album, and it sounds like it is going to be amazing. She is said to be working with Alison Goldfrapp on a duet. Hot. Calvin Harris is working on the album. Hot. AND, Scissor Sisters have pennd a couple tracks for Kylie's album. Super Hot!!!

Interpol's new album is said to be released July 10. The name of the album is
Our Love to Admire. i am impatient when it comes to music i want to hear, so i wish it was coming out next week. Ohwell, i guess i will have to wait. But, there are some clips of interpol performing some of their new material from their current Canadian tour. Here are some more clips (with better audio so you can hear the songs).
Pioneer to the Falls (posted this song earlier, but this a much better quality video from the ottawa show).

It's so easy being green!

Saturday was Earth day and I had the pleasure of seeing Dr. David Suzuki do a keynote speech on Climate Change. It's amazing how passionate he is about changing our world for the better and he is committed to educating people on the importance of the changes that need to be made immediately.

I have signed up for the Nature Challenge and I urge you to do the same!

Take a look at what the Ontario government is doing to help...it's a small, but effective step in the right direction!

McGuinty Government To Ban Inefficient Light Bulbs By 2012
10:25 EDT Wednesday, April 18, 2007

Switch To Efficient Lights, Summer Programs Will Help Ontarians Save Electricity And Money, And Protect The Environment

TORONTO, April 18 /CNW/ - Ontario is banning the sale of inefficient light bulbs by 2012 and launching five province-wide conservation initiatives as part of the government's commitment to build a conservation culture, Energy Minister Dwight Duncan and Environment Minister Laurel Broten announced today.

"It's lights out for old, inefficient bulbs in Ontario," Duncan said. "By making this one small change, we can all make an enormous difference in the way we use electricity."

New efficient lighting such as compact fluorescent bulbs (CFLs) use around 75 per cent less electricity than standard old fashioned incandescent bulbs. Replacing all 87 million incandescent bulbs in Ontario households with CFLs would save six million megawatt hours annually - enough to power 600,000 homes.

"Together, Ontarians can - and will - do their part to fight climate change starting with something as simple as changing a light bulb," said Broten. "This is an important day for Ontario's environment - this action alone represents a huge step forward in reducing greenhouse gas emissions - it's the equivalent of taking 250,000 cars off the road."

The Ministry of Energy will meet with industry, US regulators, and federal and provincial governments to develop new performance standards for lamps and to draft regulations to ban the sale of inefficient lighting by 2012 where alternatives exist in the market. In addition, as of today, the government will only purchase energy efficient light bulbs for its own buildings.

"We support the government's initiative to improve the efficiency of all lighting," said Elyse Allan, President and CEO of GE Canada which has a lamp manufacturing plant in Oakville. "By encouraging the use of high efficiency lighting, at home and at work, all of us will help reduce greenhouse gas emissions."

"Friends of the Earth congratulates the McGuinty government on their important decision to ban inefficient lighting," said Beatrice Olivastri, CEO, Friends of the Earth Canada. "A regulation for the ban plus their commitment to immediately cease provincial government's purchases of out-dated bulbs is a recipe for success - good for energy conservation and good for fighting climate change."

Today also marks the launch of five innovative energy conservation programs for summer 2007 that will give Ontarians the tools they need to save energy, money, and the environment:

- Every Kilowatt Counts - a coupon and incentive brochure being mailed to every household in Ontario. The program provides coupons for CFL bulbs, ceiling fans, timers and other energy-saving devices.
- Cool Savings Rebate Program - provides rebates for central air conditioner tune-ups and for the installation of energy-efficient central air conditioning systems and programmable thermostats.
- Great Refrigerator Roundup - will help take old, inefficient fridges out of service. Every 1,000 refrigerators retired will save enough electricity to power more than 130 homes.
- Summer Savings - offers residential and small business consumers an incentive for reducing power use: cutting use by 10 per cent during a set period gives consumers an additional 10 percent rebate on their electricity bills.
- Peaksaver - a voluntary program that allows local distribution companies to remotely cycle down central air conditioners, water heaters and pool pumps when the electricity system is stretched.

"These five programs show that conserving electricity can be easy," said Peter Love, Ontario's Chief Energy Conservation Officer. "Consumers begin saving money immediately, both on the products they purchase and by reducing electricity costs."

Since 2003, the province has made available up to $2 billion for energy efficiency and conservation programs. The summer 2007 conservation programs are just the latest conservation initiatives introduced by the McGuinty government. Others include:
- A commitment to reduce Ontario's projected peak electricity demand by five percent, and the government's own electricity use by 10 percent, by the end of 2007.
- Increasing the range of products covered by Ontario's Energy Efficiency Act to save Ontarians money and encourage energy conservation.
- Legislating improvements to the Ontario Building Code to give it the toughest energy-efficiency standards of any building code in the country.
- Providing over $14 million to support low Income conservation programs including projects with the Social Services Housing Corporation, the Energy Efficiency Assistance for Social Housing Program and the Affordable Housing Energy Efficiency Program - Supporting a wide range of incentive programs including the Every Kilowatt Counts Program that distributed over 2.8 million CFLs in 2006.
- Providing $1.5 million to Project Porchlight to deliver compact florescent light bulbs to communities across Ontario.

"Taken together, these programs represent the largest coordinated effort Ontario has ever made to conserve electricity," said Duncan. "We're working with Ontarians to build a culture of conservation that will help ensure our province has the power it needs to grow and prosper now and long into the future."

What were you doing Saturday night?
gidget: Well, if you are not 14, you most likely were out doing something fun. So, just in case you missed SNL, you should check out the video of Bjork's performance. Earth Intruders and Wanderlust are so great!

See, wasn't i right?
Jem: you are so right, Gidget! I NEVER watch SNL...but I did manage to stomach about 40 minutes of the show on Saturday...and Bjork was really good! I loved Earth Intruders...and she just looked so lovely.

Apartment hunting is stressful!!!

Jem: So, I've been on the lookout for a new place to live as of June 1st. It is completely stressing me out! Everywhere is either a dump, too expensive, or not downtown...I just moved downtown; I'm not leaving now!
To top it all off, I have to get a place by myself. I'm excited/nervous about living alone. I've never done it before. I mean, I'm not 25 anymore and I still feel nervous sleeping in a place alone...I guess there's only one way to fix that!
And, to make matters worse, my BFF, Gidget is leaving town forever at the end of this month...what am I going to do without her? It's so not my favorite when we live in different cities...and now we'll be on different continents...it's so not right. Of course, I'm crazy-excited about her going off to live a life of adventure but not without me...
Anyway, things will be fine...I'm just going to miss my movie soulmate, that's all.
Ok...enough of being a downer. I mean, I can find the positive aspects to everything...
For instance, it'll be great to live alone...I can decorate any way I want and I won't have a
roommate to get mad at for NEVER cleaning the bathroom...he knows who he is.
And, it's not easy finding the silver lining about Gidget leaving. I guess it'll force me to make new friends and meet new people; always a good thing to do but I've been really lazy about this...

Who needs to be responsible when it is so fun to be irresponsible?

gidget: So i had a ticket for the Interpol show last night. i was thinking that i should stay home, not go out. i have packing to do. i have readings to do. i need to edit my paper. So many things a responsible person would take care of before going out to see Interpol perform. Oh, and did i mention i really should not have purchased the ticket in the first place 'cause my VISA is full enough? but i really really love Interpol, so it can be forgiven right? Well, i left it to the universe. i asked two people who did not get tickets if they wanted to purchase my ticket. Yes, i only told them the day of. And yes, i was only able to leave messages for them. But, if the universe wanted me to be responsible it would have had one of them contact me, and they didn't. It would be silly to miss the show! So, i went.
Thank-u universe. I forgot how much i loved them! i knew i loved them, but i forgot that i love love loved them. you understand the difference, right? as soon as they stepped on stage i was all giddy. The new songs were amazing!!!! I can not wait till the new album comes out. Here is a video someone uploaded on you tube. Quality is not good, but at least you can sorta hear one of the new songs.

Carlos D has shorter hair and a mustache. He has got the whole Doc Holiday sort thing going on. It works on him. The thing about Carlos is he isn't attractive in photos per se, but in person he is crazy sexy. But i wasn't there to look at boys, i was there to listen to the music. Ok, one more side note....when Paul sings Stella Was a diver... and calls out "Stella. Stella. oh Stella. Stella i love you Stella i love Stella i love you" it makes me weak in the knees. man just thinking about it makes me swoon a little. Don't believe me? Check out an old clip of Interpol performing.

So you see, sometimes it pays to just forget about all things you 'should' be doing and just go see interpol instead.

is this reality?gidget: so much seems to be coming fromm the reality tv world i can't help but comment on it. First things first, Lauren (from The Hills) has come out and said that no sex tape was made of her and Jason. Let's all hold hands together and pray that this is true.
Ok, i have to admit that i am enjoying ABC's Dancing With The Stars this season. Ian Ziering is so adorable on it. I am hoping to see Brandon, Dylan, and Kelly in the audience cheering Steve on. OMG! That would just be so amazing. go ian go!
I don't watch American Idol, but i am beginning to love that Sanjaya kid. For one thing, he has got a great smile and presence on screen. You know, he just seems like a nice guy. Most importantly, he doesn't vocally assault my ears. I think a growing portion of the public is just damn sick of everyone trying to be Mariah with their vocal gymnastics. Just sing the gdamn song, and stop yelling it at me! We already got one Mariah, and she is great, and we don't need another. Anyway, go Sanjaya. American Idol is funny.

but if you thought American Idol was funny, you should check out France's version.

Man, i haven't seen anything this funny in a long time! the way the guy pronounces virgin is just killer. You know, it starts good enough, but goes so terrible terribly wrong at the end. Well, the very last note makes me giggle. BUT, the dude obviously forgot the lyrics! Uh, why does he repeat the first verse of Like A Virgin twice? not to be the Madonna police or anything, but the second verse really is fabulous and adds depth to the song. that's it, i take it back....this guy sucks. If you are going to sing Madonna, get it right!
France's stage is nice. Much better than the American Idol one.

Will they ever learn?gidget: gossip is swirling over the idea that Jason Wahler (from Laguna and The Hills fame) has a sex tape staring himself and former gf LC (from the hills). Ewwww. He is reportedly attempting to sell the tape. No doubt this is because of all the legal bills he has to pay. He has been arrested multiple times during the past two years, what a bada**.
Why are girls in Lala land so dumb? Listen girls, never ever ever make a sex tape with your bf! Even if you do not think you will ever be famous, it will end up on the Internet. keep your private life private, and shut your freakin' cameras off. You aren't as hot as you think you are!

You may think The Hills gossip would end with talk of a possible sex tape, but oh on, there is more. Reportedly Heidi (LC's former BFF) has gotten breast implants. At least that is what US weekly is reporting, and you know they are reliable. Just soyou know she has been wanting them for a while. She thought long and hard about it. And you know, she totally did it for herself. girl power!

making the world a better place
gidget: apparently Vanity Fair feels that the only way people will give a hoot about the environment is if they put supposedly handsome men on the cover of it's magazine. You may recall that last years 'Green Issue' featured a Mr. George Clooney on the cover (along with other celebs). Well, lucky for us, VF came to realize that cute animals are always better than aging celebrities. Check out the cutest polar cub you have ever seen. Oh, and whatshismaname is there too. And yes, i realize that baby simba (aka leo d) has been a champion of the environment for a long time. But, seriously, do i really care what some Hollywood celeb has to say about the current Global Warming crisis. Ah no. Do i care how cute a polar bear cub is? Hells yes!

Bjork has revealed the cover art to her next album, Volta. The great thing about Bjork is that everything that is related to her music expresses the mood of her current album. One may recall how perfectly the cover to Vespertine or Medulla were for the respective albums. I love how different the cover is for Volta. Bright and full of colour and surprise. I can not wait to hear the album!!!

Monday, March 26, 2007

gidget: The first single to be released off of Bjork's upcoming album is "Earth Intruders". Bjork was inspired by the visit she took to Indonesia to see the aftermath of the tsunami that ravaged the country. The song will feature a beat by timberland. Bjork says that she was inspired to think of the human race as a tribe and she wanted to create a universal tribal beat through the album. The more i hear about the album, the less i can wait. I wish i could hear Earth Intruders right now. This very second!

Mika Mika Mikagidget: i luv you i luv you i luv you.
The thing that is so great about your album Life In Cartoon is that it makes me smile. Every time i listen to it i can not withold my mouth from turning up with glee. i know everyone is in luv with you right now. You are the 'it' artist, but you are just too great that it would be a shame not to shout about you. On chubby face days, you make me feel a little better. And lets face it, my face is chubby so it is very helpful to have a great album to listen to when my face feels extra chubby. All i gotta do is put the track 'Love Today' on and i prance down the street with glee. I was on the bus and your song 'Big Girl(you are Beautiful)' came on and i just smiled and giggled. Unfort, a woman on the bus did not like the fact that i was smiling so much and was all 'why are you smiling?! wipe that smile off your face.' Luckily her bus stop was way before mine so i could smile again when she got off the bus ( i didn't want her to beat me up or anything). It's funny how some people find smiling so threatening. Oh, and who couldn't love Grace Kelly. It's so great when you sing/plead "why don't you like me? why don't you like me?" who can not relate to liking someone and trying to be whatever it is they like, but alas they never seem to like you. Oh, and i really really want to see you perform live. I heard that it is just the most fun, especially during lollipop.
did i mention that i luv you!

For Your Viewing Pleasure!
gidget: Just thought i would share this wonderful picture with you!

Monday, March 19, 2007

Monday Monday
gidget: on Saturday i spent the evening dancing and discussing the amazing muscles that are in 300. This crazy girl i was talking to had not even heard of the movie 300! She must have been under a rock for the last month or so. Anyway, i convinced her to go and see the film asap. Another girl tried to tell me that Michael Fassbender (Stelios in 300) was not cute. Uhhhh...i think she is a little crazy. Here is a picture from the London premiere to prove my point. I do like him with long hair though. But short is cute too.
now i have some sad news. As we all know, there is going to be another season of The Simple Life with Paris and Nicole. They were suppose to be counsellors at a kids camp, but both refused to take drug tests (ohhh, surprise) and both have drunk driving charges against them. Well, the show is still keeping the camp theme and one of the camps they will be counsellors at is a Fat Camp. Yeah, that's right, Nicole Ritchie and Paris Hilton are going to be offering support to individuals who need to loose weight. This is just wrong!!!! I have never seen an episode of The Simple Life, but i still feel that having Nicole and Paris as Counsellors at a Fat Camp is sick. Hmmm...will television once again make overweight people the joke?

In other weight news, Hilary Duff has finally come out and said she felt the pressure to lose weight. you may recall that when Hilary first emerged with a much thinner body she claimed it was because she had adopted "healthier eating habits". Yeah, and avril is a brat merely because she eats 'sugar'. Anyway, Hilary now says she did feel pressure to lose weight 'cause of what tabloids were printing about her. This is so sad. Hilary was so cute before, and now she is too thin and looks like she is 35 pushing 40 and she is only 19 ( or is she 20 now, i dunno). I can not believe how ridiculous the tabloids are about printing about women's weight. It is having such a negative effect on people. Everyone was all cheering for Jenifer Hudson and her full figure, yet tabloids continue to mock women who are larger than a size 4.

Who's That??????

gidget: So, Jem and I saw 300 last night. It was mantastic! It was almost too much hotness, but wasn't. It didn't cross the hotness line, so we could handle all the hotness in the movie. One or two more super cute actors and it would have been too mantastic. Anyway, reader i am wondering if you had the same reaction Jem and i did during the film. Suddenly you start to notice how cute one of the Spartans is.....wait no, he's super cute. Who is he? Okay, he plays Stelios in the movie. He wears a loincloth and a cape well. Hmmm..he does seem a little familiar. Well fair reader i have discovered where Mr.cutie cute is from. His name is Michael Fassbender. He is in a British television program called Hex. I haven't seen it yet, but am working on that so i will let you know how it is. He was also in the tv movie 'A Bear Named Winnie'. That is where i have seen him before. What?! I wanted to watch a movie about the bear that inspired Winnie the Pooh. He was also in Band of Brothers. So, you may have seen his cute face on your television screen before. He's pretty dreamy, and crazy handsome in 300. Very nice chest, but that's a given in 300. He also has nice eyes. i think i have a crush on him now.

Gerard is so crazy attractive in 300 it is insane. He is 150% testosterone in the movie, and for some reason i love it! MMMmmm..men in capes, who knew it would be sooo hot? i don't even want to know how many power shakes this cast consumed during production.

i am man hear me roar! rarrrrrrr.

Jem: Oh MY GOD!!! 300 was so insanely good and awesome and full of delicious, yummy MEN!!! Not boys, people! Full-grown (emphasis on the grown part) men! It had muscles and running in slow motion and a heavy metal score and fighting and Gerard and so many other delicious feasts for the eyes.

The man mentioned by Gidget (Michael) was incredible!!! He just kept getting hotter and hotter...personally, I felt that way about most of the Spartans. Who doesn't love muscles? I'm not saying I love muscles on a REAL guy...because who would want to be with someone obsessed with the gym? I'm just saying it's great to see them on screen and drool...and objectify men a little bit...

FYI, Gidge, I totally recognize Michael from Band of Brothers...no wonder he's so hot. Band of Brothers is full of awesomeness...including Donnie from NKOTB.

Did I mention I like muscles?

Speaking of GAP Ads...

Jem: Have you seen the ad with Chris O'Donnell in it? It's a print ad and he looks so sweet and cute. It reminds me of when all the girls used to crush on him. I guess he's made a bit of a comeback because of Grey's Anatomy. I don't have anything against Dr. McDreamy but Chris O'Donnell did grow up well. And, I'd rather date a vet than an emergency surgeon because I'm selfish and would be upset if my bf had to leave our dates all the time.

Top 10 Hottest Boys under 40!!!

Jem: Gee, this was a really tough list to make. How do you narrow it down from all the guys in the world to only 10??? Well, Gidget suggested the whole: under 40 thing...that still made things tough...there are a lot of yummy guys pushing 40.

So, here's my list for your enjoyment:

1) Richard Armitage: my celebrity husband! I just love, love, love him and his kissable lips. Nobody does it better.

2) Gerry Butler: Gidget's celebrity husband. He is so silly and cute and gorgeous. Normally, I would consider it wrong to lust after another's husband, but I would LOVE two tickets to his gun show!!!

3) Chris Carpenter: Quite easily the dreamiest pitcher in baseball. Chris is so focused and cute and I can't watch him throw a ball without getting tummy butterflies and proclaiming my love to the world!

4)Patrick Wilson: My former celebrity husband. How can a girl not swoon at a gorgeous blue-eyed man who sings and dances beautifully? Not to mention that whole Paul Newman thing he's got going on.

5) Hugh Jackman: JUST made the cut because of his age. But he really is so wonderfully gorgeous, he also has the accent, the singing and dancing thing and he just seems so nice. It's so great when guys are nice, don't you think?

6) Joshua Jackson: Ahh, Pacey! I admit I watched Dawson's Creek for Pacey alone. He really was the perfect boy...

7) Carter Oosterhouse: There's something about a gorgeous, toned man who can build you anything you want. I really am looking for a handy man.

8) Ewan McGregor: Hmm, there seems to be a trend with the boys that can sing and dance. Also, have you seen Long Way Round? It's so incredibly sexy that he has this passion and he lived a dream with his best friend. Plus, the further he goes, the more dissheveled he gets and the sexier he gets. It's unbelievable. He doesn't look bad in a single frame of that entire series. Plus, he has a delicious accent.

9) Scott Foley: I have been in serious crush mode with Scott since Felicity. I'm happy to see that he's still on TV. Scott was one of my first celebrity husbands but, like all the others, he chose to get married to a girl who wasn't me. I always pick the good ones who tend to get snatched up right away.

10) Jason Statham: And last, but certainly not least, there's this fine fellow. It was very difficult for me to post a picture of Jason with a shirt on. There aren't too many men that I lust after simply because of their physicality but, I have to be honest, I don't watch The Transporter for the witty dialogue. I love Jason's accent and muscles and everything. It's all on a very basic level. And I'm okay with that.

Fall into the GAP!!!
Jem: Is it wrong to luurv a GAP ad? Actually, I don't love the ad. Claire Danes can't dance worth a damn and I hates her. But Patrick is so dreamy, cute, sweet and delicious. I love his cute smile. And why isn't he singing? He's such a great singer!
So despite the fact that I don't love the GAP, I do love their choice of boys. They often choose the dreamiest boys.
Gidget: the gap does often choose the dreamiest boys! the commercial is super cute. they should have cast an actress who can sing and dance, that way Patrick could have sung too.
p.s. It is being reported that Salma Hayek is engaged and expecting her first child. Her fiancee is some businessman. If the story is true, congrats to them!

So Lucky
gidget: H&M is killing me here. The clothing outlet is now releasing a beachwear line that has been inspired by Kylie herself. The line is named 'H & M loves Kylie'. Who doesn't? The line is expected to hit stores in mid-may. Go Kylie go! Also, good job H&M! hooking up with such amazing women is a brilliant move. Much smater than random hook-up with a poptart with no taste. I guess the one thing saving me is that i don't really buy 'beachwear'. Then again, i am planning on going to a beach at somepoint, and i will need something to wear when i go.....

gidget: Bjork's new album has a name and release date! The new album is named Volta and at this time the release date is May 7 2007. Volta will feature 10 new tracks written by beloved Bjork, and the album is produced by her as well. Some of the collaborators on the album are Timberland, Antony Hegarty (who duets on two tracks), Mark Bell, Konono No 1, Chris Corsano, and others. Very exciting. I just hope the release date sticks, and it doesn't get pushed back. Remember how Vespertine's release date kept getting pushed back? May 7 isn't even that far away!! I can not wait to hear the first track released off the album. So, go mark your calendars.
