What the H-E-double hockey sticks?

Jem: Ok, so, Gidget called me the other day and told me about a comment that had been posted on our blog. She said it was about phone sex. So, today I checked it out.

What the eff? Some person said that we can submit articles to him/her about phone sex. Why would someone say that to us? Our blog is about celebrity gossip and cute boys. There is absolutely nothing sexual about it.

So, one of the following things has occurred:

A) the person writing us doesn't fully grasp the English language and a huge miscommunication has happened;

B) the person writing us thinks Gidget and myself are 14 year old girls and is a huge pervert; or,

C) both A and B.

My money's on C.

Why, oh why, would some random person just post a comment on our blog inviting us to provide articles about phone sex? I seriously doubt this person writes for a reputable publication...

Gwen's New Look
gidget: I am not sure how i feel about Gwen's new look. Too much gold for my taste. I do like how she likes to play dress-up though. It's fun. Wind It Up is a fun song, but the video is weak. It does not catch my attention and hold it the way 'What You Waiting for?' did. That video was amazing. I am very curious about the album. Is going to sound like leftovers from LoveAngelMusicBaby, or is going to sound fresh? One thing I know for sure is that i miss No Doubt. Supposedly Gwen has mentioned that she wants to work with No doubt again (ofcourse after everything else in her very busy schedule). That's One busy woman! Oh, and sounds like there will be another world tour to look forward to. This time i do not want to miss seeing her live. I still regret never seeing No Doubt live.

gidget: Okay, i know this is in the total gossip, could be completely false, category but Ivanka Trump and Topher Grace might be hooking up!!!! They were seen at some Halloween shindig and supposedly shared a kiss, and left holding hands. Okay, that is just crazy! What a freakin' weird couple that would be. Or maybe not. Topher seems like the type that would go for high maitenance women. I am just surprised that he would go for someone so recognizable. I always pictured him more with the tv show groupie types. Ivanka is hilarious. Remember when she said that her daddy didn't give her her nice apartment, she worked for it. Yeah, at her nice cushy job at Trump Industries, and lives in a Trump tower. I'm sure her dad had nothing to do with her getting such a well paid job. No, nothing at all. Ofcourse this could all be made-up, fake gossip and Topher really is spending time with tv show groupies, and Ivanka is working very hard at her job at Trump.

gidget: I heart Kylie! I think her new calendar looks great! I am so happy that she is healthy, happy and looks amazing. I love the eye make-up she is sporting on the cover of her 2007 calendar. I wish she would go on tour in North America. I bet her tour in England and Australia is going to be amazing. Body Language was such a good album. Her music is so fun and great to dance to.

Jem: I went to the NARS make-up counter for a make-over about a year ago and this is how the girl did my eyes. I love them on Kylie but I didn't love them on me. I am super happy that Kylie is okay and back on the scene because she is super-wonderful. The only way she could be better is for her to come to Canada!

gidget: Lol! That's funny that your makeover had your eyes like Kylie's. Funny 'cause i love the eye make-up for a photo, or going out and just having fun. It would look a little too dramatic for just walking around in the afternoon. Make-up is funny that way.

Is it Crazy that I found Tori Spelling entertaining?

Jem: So, last night, I was watching Tori Spelling's show, So NoTORIous, on tv last night, and I have to admit, I found it slightly hilarious. I have never been a big Tori fan...but I love, love, love 90210 and Donna Martin will always have a place in my heart.

I think it's great when celebs make fun of themselves. And, even if it is a cartoonish view of what life was like for little Tori, it's still outrageous and so far from my up-bringing that I find it wildly entertaining!

That's it, that's all!

Gidget: Shut the heck up! I was watching that show last night too. I thought show was ridiculous, but in such a good way. funny. i love how tori can't act, but tries so hard. Somehow it just works.

Chris Carpenter is soooo dreamy!

Jem: In honour of Chris Carpenter, I am posting this blog in Cardinal red. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm a tried and true, pure orange and blue, Tigers fan until I die. But, I was watching the Cards beat out the Padres the other day with Gidget and I couldn't keep my eyes of that Cutie McCute pitcher, number 29, Chris Carpenter.

This is Chris at work. The picture is small but notice his concentration and glorious forearms.

This is a picture of Chris' cute, little face. He just looks so sweet...

Alas, he is married, and is, therefore, ineligible for celebrity husband status.

I read that his son's name is Sam. That is, quite possibly the cutest boy's name...except for maybe, Elliot.

I guess my point is that I think he's cute!

The Beautiful Boys of summer...and, now, Fall!

Well, things are definitely looking good for my team, my boys, the Detroit Tigers! I mean after 19 years of being shut-out from the play-offs, we're going home and we're up two games. We're in it to win it!! I have loved this team my entire life; and now, I know why!!!

But I'm not here to bore you with stats about how great these guys are...I mean, you have the internet...look it up if you want to know! I'm here to talk about how cute baseball players are...and for more than just their looks! If you've ever met the Gidge or myself, then you know that she and I are crazy about men in uniform...policemen, firemen, navy, army, doctor...you name it, we love it...but, the baseball uniform is one of our faves. Those tight, tapered pants aren't necessarily the most stylish things going but, there's something about them that can make a 30 year old man look like a little boy all over again. There's something youthful and vulnerable about them...and the baseball caps are just too cute.

There are some of you out there who would scoff at Gidget and me; saying "They're athletes, and should be regarded as such. They aren't there for your viewing pleasure!" To which I reply "Women's Volleyball people!!! At least the boys I'm oogling wear clothes!"

Here are some things I've noticed, while watching the Tigers kick butt!

Detroit is a high-five team! I totally love this about this ball club; after every great play, every run, every member of the team gives and receives a high-five. It's so boy-ish and it shows an amazing amount of team spirit and camaraderie. Good sportsmanship is hot! It's also hot when players get a little pissed off...but it's hotter when they're nice, and love to play the game.

This is Craig Monroe. He is cute!! And he's an awesome player!

This is Jaime Walker. He is a pitcher...a closer, actually. That means he can handle the pressure of having to win a ball game. He is so cute and very tall. I especially like him because he looks like, and reminds me of, a boy I had a crush on in high school. Coincidentally, he was also named Jaime!

Another Reason to LOVE Prince!
Prince was performing at an Emmy's afterparty and made a comment about Justin T's claims of bringing sexyback. While Prince was performing he yelled out

"For whoever is claiming that they are bringing sexy back, sexy never left!"
Damn straight! I thought the exact same thing when the song came out. Don't get me wrong, the song is fun to dance to. But Justin is not super sexy. He may be cute, but he ain't sexy. He does not come close to the sexual energy of a man like Prince. Justin's music isn't even close to sexy. If Justin thinks that mentioning he'll let you whip him when he misbehaves is sexy he has a lot to learn. That's goofy teenage sexy compare to Prince's all out sexy music.

Oh my goodness, oh my goodness, Oh my freakin' goodness!
gidget: Rumour has it that Madonna may play the lead in the film version of 'Mama Mia'. OMG! That would be the most amazing, fabulous, makes-me-so happy, thing ever. Madonna, singing ABBA songs. i can not handle the pop-heaven that creates for me! i realize that this is just a rumour, and Madonna claimed to be retiring from the acting circuit, but this would just be too good. Oh please, please, please, let this rumour become reality. So so so so good.
One Song For You
gidget: So, it's the end. I didn't get to see the last show. And now that August is almost at an end, i feel sad.
From What i've read, the final show was amazing.
I suppose it is slightly selfish to want a band to stay together forver, when they want to move on to other things.
It's amazing how a band was able to make every album so solid. And their last album was remarkable.
I was so excited. Where would the next album take us fans?
They had the energy of a 'new' band, with the experience and talent of veterans.
I will sure miss waiting for the next album to come out. Marking the day on my calendar and running to the record store the morning of the release.
When i heard they were going on an 'indefinite hiatus' i felt like it was an end of an era, even though that is a super cheesy thing to think.
i also felt old.
I read that Eddie V. performed two songs before the bands last set. he mentioned how wished he'd been around to see the Beatles and Jimi Hendrix and the Sex Pistols but that he was thankful to have been around to see Sleater-Kinney. I think most fans feel the same.
I love you s-k. Your songs have never stopped inspiring and challenging me.
my heart breaks a little today.

Robbie is so cute!

gidget: here is a quote of Robbie Williams discussing how much he fancies Madonna.

'British singer Robbie Williams is afraid he will remain single forever, because no girl can ever live up to his ideal woman - Madonna. The Feel singer admits he is jealous of the Material girl's film-maker husband Guy Ritchie. He says, 'I've been in bed with somebody that I'm having a very romantic mini-break with, a couple of weeks relationship with, and then I watch the late shows in America and there will be a girl on there I'd rather be with. Madonna is the ultimate in our day and age of the grass being greenest. Guy Ritchie is a lucky man. I do happen to fancy Madonna. She rehearses her a**e off. Goes to the gym every day. She does all that stuff to get it spot-on and then she delivers. I'm in awe of her drive.'

I persoanlly can not wait to hear the song Robbie penned about Madonna. Not only is the song called 'She's Madonna', but he worked with The Pet Shop Boys on it. I bet Robbie Williams would be amazing to see in concert! Guy Ritchie is a lucky man, but he is also very adorable.

Countdown To Snakes On A Plane!
gidget: okay, i am getting excited for Snakes On A Plane. So excited i think i will go on Friday night. Yeah, it will be busy, but that is part of the fun. Plus, Samuel L. Jackson said he would kick my a** if i didn't go to the movie.
I must say i am little behind on the celebrity gossip lately. Everything seems a little dull in la-la land right now.

Scary mothereffer

gidget: So last night i had a bad dream. I dreamt that i was staying in some hotel and i suddenly noticed snakes under a chair in the lobby. I freaked out and asked the hotel staff why their were snakes in their hotel. I was then told they were snakes from "Snakes on a Plane" and they were staying there for the next couple days. I was terrified and screamed at the staff saying that they should have informed it's customers of the loose snakes. Then i was attempting to leave, and could not find a way out, and more and more snakes were appearing. It was horrible, and i woke up. I do not think i can even see 'Snakes on a Plane' . I am getting chills down my spine just thinking of all the snakes. oh god.

Jem: Ew. Oh God, Gidget...that is, quite possibly, the scariest dream I've ever heard of!!! I hate snakes!!!

gidget: Seriously! The concept of the movie (although, i do see the humour in it) is terrifying. Snakes......on......a....Plane! i can't handle the idea of it. i hope i never accidently see a preview of it, i will have to close my eyes, and hold my hands over my face till the serpents are off the screen.

Jem: Thanks for the comments, Bernie! "Circle of Friends" is one of my favourite movies. It's so sweet and sort of heartbreaking. Ah, back in the day when Chris O'Donnell was trying to be a big star. Don't get me wrong, he's a star...just not a big one.

Josh Jackson is a good choice for a celeb hubby. He is so yummy! I can't believe he dated Katie Holmes in real life. They seem like an odd match.

You know who else is cute? Chris Klein. He seems like a nice guy...and Katie Holmes was engaged to him. Why did she pick Tom Cruise over him? There are things I'll never know, I guess.

Jem: So, Gidget and I went to see Superman Returns with our super cutie-cutie friend, Miss M. I thought the movie Supersucked!!! There was almost no action, Kate Bosworth sucks as Lois Lane (absolutely NO moxie), and, it turns out, Superman is a deadbeat dad!

I was over it before the whole thing even started...and edit, people!!! Not every movie needs to be as long as childbirth...or as painful as the one last night was.

Ok, that's all I have to say about that right now.

gidget: i was not too impressed either. Like, there was no action. At least no good action. Oh, and Kate Bosawahatever, a paperdoll has more charisma. But i don't think Superman is a deadbeat dad. The summer movies have been a bit of a let down this year, but i still have movies to see. i could not believe how bored i was during Superman. If i had been at home, i would have fallen asleep. Or, shut it off to watch a Friends rerun i have seen 15 times, 'cause it would have be more entertaining. kinda sad.
gidget: Okay, so one of my new fav. things is to check my Top 25 played on my ipod every week or so to see how it has changed. So Jem, my question to you is what is on your Top 25 right now?

Jem: Gee, Gidget, I'm surprised you'd ask me this question...you know how personal a girl's iPod is. And by personal, I mean embarrassingly uncool...

But, in the interest of this iPod and knowing that I won't know anyone reading this here is my Top 25...

1. Wonderwall - Oasis
2. Electrical Storm - U2 (I do love this one)
3. Going Under - Evanescense (I know...but they kept playing that Tristan & Isolde trailer and it got stuck in my head)
4. This Year's Love - David Gray
5. In the Waiting Line - Zero 7
6. Keep on Loving you - REO Speedwagon
7. Lola Stars & Stripes - The Stills
8. Pour Some Sugar on Me - Def Leppard
9. Break the Night with Colour - Richard Ashcroft
10. Try - Nelly Furtado
11. Wake Up - Arcade Fire
12. I'm so Excited - Le Tigre
13. Fall Behind Me - The Donnas
14. The Reason - Hoobastank
15. Still in Love Song - The Stills
16. Any Way you Want it - Journey
17. I want it that way - Backstreet Boys

21. Beautiful Day - U2
22. Dakota - Stereophonics
23. Unconditional - The Bravery
24. What you waiting for - Gwen Stefani
25. Such Great Heights - The Postal Service

Wow! I'm surprised that there isn't any Madonna on that list...or the new Nelly Furtado album...I feel like that's all I listen to these days. I can't remember the last time I listened to that Donnas song. And, yeah, there are 3 Stills songs on there because I had the best time at their concert a few months ago...

Ok, that was fun and virtually painless. What's on your list, Gidget???

gidget: Well, you have to remember that stuff that has been in your music library for a long time is most likely to be on your Top 25 most played. And yes, a girls music collection is a private matter, but it is still fun to see what the most played music within that collection is! Here's mine:
1. Get Together - Madonna
2. Summer Dock - jjh
3. Ray of Light - Madonna
4. Music Is The Victim - Scissor Sisters
5. Love At First Sight - Kylie (i love you kylie!)

23.Bachelorette - Bjork
24. A Question of Time - Depeche Mode
25. Vogue - Madonna!

There you go. That is the list for today, the morning of August 25. It's funny to look at.

gidget: So, last night i was playing softball and out of nowhere i got janet jackson's song 'IF' stuck in my head. Then i started to think about how good that video is. janet looks so amazing in it, and the dancing, oh the dancing. Especially when the song has the break, what an incredible dance break/sequence.

Jem: Remember when we saw Janet? That was the best!!! She was amazing live. "IF" is an amazing song...but I still love "Rope Burn" the best. And what she did to that guy during the concert...racy!!!

Isn't it funny when songs get stuck in your head out of nowhere?

So here's a tiny, insignificant bit of news that popped on to my radar this morning...Avril and Derek got married this weekend. I honestly thought they would break up before they got to the altar. I couldn't care less about this but I will be watching ET Canada tonight to see her dress. (I'm all about the dress). The wedding sounds like it was pretty classy...but don't you think 21 is a bit too young to get married?

gidget: yes, i did hear about Avril's nuptials. The dress is more fancy than i would have suspected Avril to wear. It is a Vera Wang gown (at least that is what i have heard), and she carried a bouquet of white roses. Also, i heard that Deryck and Avril's first song/dance was The Goo Goo Dolls 'Iris'. Ewww! What a wicked bad first song. I can not even imagine being married at 21. I wouldn't want to be chained down like that now, nevermind at 21! Not that i have a very intersting life, but still, 21. I guess if you are old enought to hold your liquor in the States, you are old enough to keep a man.

Thursday, July 13, 2006

Jem: Ok, Gidget, I know we've talked about this before but now I'm putting it out there into the world via our blog...why are American guys so cute? And why are they more accepting of normal-sized girls? Canadian guys are all about the Barbies out there. They like skinny, blonde girls...even if they have nothing in common. Maybe they watched too many Corey Haim movies when they were kids.

I just feel more attractive and more accepted by guys in the US. It's like they understand that women come in all shapes and sizes and they like it that way.

Ok, ok, I know I'm generalizing and, if you're a guy reading this, you're probably shaking your head saying "Not me, I'm not like that at all"...and maybe you're not. But you know what? You most likely ARE like that. Think about it.

Feel free to post your comments...Gidget and I will gladly respond to anything you have to say.

Gidget: I have no idea why Amreican boys are so cute? perhaps it is the cute accent (according to what part of the country they are from).

Wednesday, July 05, 2006

Gidget: New H & M ads featuring Madonna are AMAZING! I love the new tracksuit. I can not wait till they are available for purchase. I think i heart Cloud.

Monday, June 26, 2006

gidget: gwen and baby kingston are so freakin' cute. I dig kingston's socks, and gwen's manicured nails. Not a fan of the shade of gwen's lipstick though. still, it's adorable.
In other news, it seems that a Pirates of the Caribbean #3 is in the works. Okay, that is not very intersting. Keith Richards is said to make an appearance in the film. I know I will end up seeing PotC #2, but it does not look very good. i think i am just sick of Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom, and ofcourse, Keira Knightley.

Jem: this IS such a freakin' cute picture. And I love that Gwen still has her mommy belly. I hate it when celebs get all super-skinny five minutes after birth...it's just wrong. Besides, babies like to cuddle...and ballerina bones are not cuddly.

I like Gwen. She is just so cool...and slightly weird...which only makes her cooler. And I'm happy that she's a mom...

Speaking of Pirates of the Caribbean, there is no other movie I have less desire to see. I mean, it's the summer so I'll see anything but the first one was just sooooo long. It was good the first time around. It was fun. But what is with movies not being edited? Like, hello!? 2.5 hours isn't always the best thing. And don't even get me started on Peter Jackson.
